The following are 2008 community events that are held within the Village of Mukwonago. All dates and times are subject to change. If you are an event organizer, or know of an event taking place within the Village limits, please e-mail Steve Braatz, Clerk-Treasurer at sbraatzjr@villageofmukwonago.com. Please note that events must be held by a club or organization. No business sponsored event (i.e. grand opening, sales event, etc.) or private parties (i.e. family reunions, birthday parties, weddings, etc.) will be listed on this page.
Memorial Day Procession and Ceremonies When - Monday, May 26, 2008 Where - Oak Knoll Cemetary, Washington Ave. Park Contact - Skip Jacobs, 378-0397 At 9:30 AM Monday, May 26th American Legion Post Color Guard will step off and lead the procession starting form Park View Middle School.
Members of the American Legion Post 375, American Legion Post Auxiliary, VFW, Great Lakes Base Submarine Veterans, Mukwonago High School Marching Band, Local Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops will be participating. In addition, Town Officials and Supervisors, Village Trustees and the Village Fire and Police Chief are expected to attend.
The procession will march south on North Rochester Street (Hwy 83) stopping at Oak Knoll Cemetery. Here the Cemetery Tribute will be held. Legion Chaplain will lead with a prayer, Legion Firing Squad will fire the salute and taps will be played. The procession will then move on to Washington Street marching to the Mukwonago Library grounds. Here the Memorial Day Ceremonies will be held.
Two highlights to this year’s ceremony will include the “Fly Over” of WWII Warbirds and a very interesting and motivational message from Congressman Paul Ryan.
After the ceremony all children attending will be treated to ice cream.
All those participating in the procession and ceremonies are asked to be at Park View Middle School by 9:00 AM for staging. (North Side of Mukwonago.. Hwy 83 & NN)
