Wisconsin Now Requires a Photo ID to Vote

On Monday, March 23, 2015, the United States Supreme Court issued an order declining to hear an appeal of Wisconsin’s voter photo ID law.  On advise of the Wisconsin Attorney General, the photo ID law will be enforced for Elections after April 2015.  For complete details on Voting in Wisconsin and the Voter Photo ID Law, please refer to the following resources:

Poll Location and Hours

Elections are held in the Community Room located at the Village Hall, 440 River Crest Court. Polls are open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Voting Absentee

If you wish to vote absentee, you must complete an Absentee Ballot Application and send it to the Village Clerk’s Office, P.O. Box 206, Mukwonago, WI, 53149, or drop it off at 440 River Crest Court. You may either vote in person or have a ballot sent to you. The last day to apply for an absentee ballot to be mailed to you is 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 2. IMPORTANT: In-person absentee will begin on February 1 and will end at 5:00 p.m. on the Friday before the election. The Clerk’s Office will be open on the Friday, February 12, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  State law does not allow absentee voting on the Monday prior to election day.

If you are not registered to vote in the Village of Mukwonago, you may register to vote in the following ways:

At the Clerk’s Office.  The Clerk’s office is located at 440 River Crest Court.  The hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 to noon.  The Clerk’s Office will be open on Friday, February 12, 2016 until 5:00 p.m. for the purposes of voter registration.

Online.  Please visit My Vote Wisconsin.  You will need to print off the application and either bring it to the Clerk’s Office or the polls, or mail it to the Clerk’s Office (below).  You MUST include your proof of residence when returning your voter registration application to the Clerk’s Office.  Please note, the cut off for mailing in your registration to the Clerk’s Office is 20 days before the election (January 27).  After that date, you will need to apply at the Clerk’s Office or at the polls.

By Mail.  Fill out a Voter Registration Application, and mail it to:  Village of Mukwonago Clerk, ATTN:  Voter Registration, P.O. Box 206, Mukwonago, WI  53149.  You MUST include your proof of residence when returning your voter registration application to the Clerk’s Office.  Please note, the cut off for mailing in your registration to the Clerk’s Office is 20 days before the election (January 27).  After that date, you will need to apply at the Clerk’s Office or at the polls.

At the poll location.  The polling location in the Village of Mukwonago is located in the Community Room at the Village Hall, 440 River Crest Court.

IMPORTANT: In order to register to vote in the Village of Mukwonago, you must have been living in your residence at least 28 days prior to the election.

Things to Bring to Register to Vote at the Polls

  • Proof of residency. For procedures on how to register to vote and the documents you need, click here.
  • Driver’s license or Wisconsin State Identification number AND expiration date of the document. If you have not been issued a driver’s license or Wisconsin State ID, then you must provide the last four digits of your social security number.
  • Previous Name and/or Address. If you are registered elsewhere in Wisconsin and have recently moved to the Village of Mukwonago, you must notify the election officials of your previous address you were registered to vote at.
